Job Description One of our larger clients in the El Dorado Hills, CA are is looking to add a SQL DBA to their team. This going to be a 6 + month contract position.
Job Description
Creates, supports, and administers relational databases. Evaluates and designs existing or proposed systems to structure and access databases. Analyzes database requirements for the user department, applications programming and operations. Recommends solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data backup/recovery specifications. Is able to function independently with minimal oversight and direction. May instruct and guide lower level technical professionals. Assignments are broad in nature and complex in scope. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others. Ability encompasses indepth knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Generally requires 5 to 8 years of professional experience directly related to all aspects of the primary product, program or technology. Fully competent professional.
Qualifications
At least five years SQL Server DBA experience, including: development and production
support experience in SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 in a clustered environment.
Ability to support log shipping, db mirroring, replication, Analysis Server, Reporting Services with the ability to support complex SQL queries and large databases (multi terabyte). Production support providing
rotational on call responsibilities is required.
Experience converting DTS to SSIS, eDiscovery and EDIFECS is a plus.
Candidate should be open to working off hours but most of the work will be done during normal hours Monday Friday.
