And Now For Something Completely Different

Posted on August 26, 2009February 9, 2011 by slowder

I’ve been debating what to do about my weight a lot lately. My doctor’s have always given me the helpful gems: “Eat healthier foods,” and “Go to the gym.” I know I have to do something about it.

I’ve always tried diet and exercise, and always failed to become healthy. Sure, I could lose 10 or 20 pounds. I can never put on muscle. I can never drop the weight. I can go to the gym every week day for a month, and I’ll see some difference, but I can never see enough to keep me motivated.

So today I did something about it…I got professional help. I skipped the trainers and dietitians. I went to a doctor today. He specializes in weight loss. He also seemed to genuinely want to help me change. The great thing about him: he’s going to find the root cause or causes of my problems to see what I have to do to take off the weight.

So tomorrow, I have to go have some blood work done.  He’ll use the results to see what I’m up against.  He assures me most every problem I could have, he has a way to counter it.  He says my goal is to get to a size 34 pant.  I haven’t been that since 8th grade I think.

We’ll see what happens.  I’m putting this out there, because I am holding myself accountable.  Not only to myself, but to the internet as a whole.  I’m really pumped to see this thing work!
