After another month of studying, I finally took the 70-450. I’m happy to say I passed! I did learn one thing from the exam: I should spend more time with encryption techniques and what all you can accomplish through encryption. Unfortunately, I’ve never had the business excuse to practice with encryption. I am interested in the technique, so I will spend a little time learning what I can, and what the costs of encryption can be on performance.
So what’s next? Well, I’m interested in getting my MCT, so I can help others get to where I am. Besides, I enjoy teaching, so any excuse to do more of that is always welcome!
I’m also evaluating my 2011 resolutions. I’m happy to say I knocked both the MC:ITPs off my list. I spoke at two SQL Saturdays this year, I had planned on speaking at three, but family commitments always take precedence. The last item on my professional resolutions was to start watching the MCM prep videos. I did watch a couple in preparation for my ITPs, so I think I’ll pick those up. I’ll try to get through those before the end of the year. I know I want to reach that level, but I know it won’t be in 2011. I think I could do it in 2012 though!
There are a couple personal resolution items I’m going to try and knock out this year. I want to read a few more novels before the end of the year. And there are a couple Star Wars books that I’ve been eye-balling. I think I’ll crack those open!
If you’re trying to get through your exams, and you want to reach out for some advice or help. Let me know. I’ll do what I can to help you make it there too!
