Whenever someone starts learning Microsoft SQL Server they always ask for a demo database they can connect to. If you don’t have access to one already there is hope. Search on amazon and see how cheaply you can find a copy of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Developer edition. I’ve found them as low as $50. Once you have that installed, you can head over to Microsoft and you’ll find a download for the Northwinds and pubs database.
The Northwinds database has several tables you can use to practice your SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE statements. You can also do much more (once you’re up to it.
I’m including a link to the database download to make things easier!
