If you’re not already a member of the Charlotte SQL Server User Group, go now and sign up. This group is a great resource of knowledge and connections to the SQL Server community in Charlotte, NC. Their plan is to get together once a month and discuss a new and interesting topic on SQL Server.
This meeting looked at the best practices for securing SQL Server and the data contained within from both a DBA and developer perspective. Starting with the basics of how to relate security issues to business personnel, it then dove in to the technical aspects of locking down SQL Server. The various SQL Server versions from 2000 through 2008 were covered.
